COLONIA, NJ – Sophomore Karis Kraf vaulted her way to a personal best and the meet record as she won the pole vault competition at the Youngstown Ice Breaker Meet over the weekend and has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Field Athlete of the Week as the first week of award winner were announced Tuesday afternoon.

Kraf vaulted to the top of the Roberts Wesleyan pole vault crew with a winning effort at the season opening Ice Breaker Meet at Youngstown State University in Ohio. She was the lone competitor to clear the 4-meter mark with a winning jump of 4.11 meters (13' 5 ¾"). The mark was a personal best effort and a meet record. The mark is ranked third in the nation after the first week of competition. She was first overall out of 15 vaulters in the seeded group at the meet.

The Roberts pole vaulters will compete at the Haynes Lancaster Open in Akron, Ohio this weekend before the semester break begins.
