Five Players Earn Academic Honors for Women’s Basketball

ROCHESTER, NY – Five members of the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Basketball team have been honored by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and were named to the organization's Scholar-Athlete list. In addition, two of those players earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.

Graduate student Georgia Haverlock, senior Grace Dow, juniors Maria Ferrer Brao, Cristina Gonzalez-Simarro Rubio and Laura Granada were selected as Scholar-Athletes by the NCCAA while Dow and Gonzalez-Simarro earned recognition as members of the Academic All-District squad.

Both organizations require at least a 3.50 grade point average and full participation on the representative teams.

Haverlock led the Redhawks with 16.7 points per game and Dow was the top rebounder on the squad with 7.4 per contest.
