BUFFALO, NY – Sophomore Rebecca Spry rolled a team-leading 180 to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Bowling team to an 850-787 traditional match victory over D'Youville University Sunday but the Saints rebounded to with a 4-2 Baker scoring match to salvage a split in the dual match with the Redhawks.
In the opening traditional scoring match, Spry rolled a 180 while junior Amelia Ponto recorded a 176 and freshman Kaylee Stevens posted a 171 for Roberts. Sophomore Abigail Barnard had a 168 and fellow sophomore Angelica Polcini rounded out the Roberts scoring with a 155.
In the Baker scoring match, the Saints took an early lead with a 134-128 win in the first game.
Roberts rallied to win the next two games, 184-148 and 157-136 to take a 2-1 edge in the match. D'Youville answered with a 186-178 win in the fourth game to knot the score at 2-2 and took a 3-2 lead with a tight 168-162 win in the fifth game. The sixth game was close as well with the Saints managing a 210-191 win to close out the match.
The Redhawks have one remaining regular-season dual match Saturday at Pitt-Bradford and will compete in the East Coast Conference Championship Tournament March 21-23 in Pennsylvania.
