ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior
Jacob Zimmerman opened the scoring 32 seconds into the game as the Roberts Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team jumped to a quick five-goal lean and cruised to an 18-10 victory over East Coast Conference foe D'Youville on Senior Night Friday.
Freshman
Cody Coleman led the Redhawks (6-6, 3-2 ECC) with four goals and three assists while senior
Ryan Prine notched a career-high four goals and six points. Zimmerman finished with five points on two goals and three assists.
Junior
Isaac Marrero also had a career-day, winning 29 of 32 face-offs, collecting 20 ground balls and distributing two assists.
Coleman, Prine, Zimmerman and
Ryan Brown all scored two goals in the first half as Roberts built a 13-4 lead at the intermission.
Ryan Brown finished with three goals while juniors
Justin Skelly and
Ethan Brown both had a goal and an assist. Senior
Tyler Clark, sophomore
Killian Ceci and freshman
Chase Wilson each scored a goal.
Junior
Garrett Kayser made nine saves for the Redhawks, who honored seniors Clark, Prine, Zimmerman,
Alexander Cooper and
Donovin Jones in a pregame ceremony on what was also Face-off Against Cancer night.
Roberts closes its regular season at ECC rival Frostburg State at 1 p.m. on April 26.
