BRIDGEPORT, CT – Seniors Emma Blumenstock and Annie Mulhall along with junior Ella Dossier combined for 27 points as the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Lacrosse team scored a season-high 21 goals in a 21-5 road victory over University of Bridgeport Sunday afternoon.
Blumenstock led the Redhawks (5-6 overall) with six goals and eight assists while Mulhall stayed hot with six goals and Dossier handed out a career-high seven assists as she eclipsed the 100-career assists milestone.
The trio of player dominated the first quarter with a combined five goals and seven assists as Roberts jumped out to an 8-0 in the first 15 minutes of action.
The Redhawks added two more goals to start the second quarter to take a double-digit lead.
Bridgeport (5-6) scored to stop the run but Mulhall and Blumenstock answered with a combined three goals and an assist in a span of 4:23 to increase the lead to 13-1. The Purple Knights added a late goal as the teams entered the halftime intermission with a 13-2 score.
Roberts added five goals in the third quarter and wrapped up the game with a 3-0 advantage in the final period.
In addition to the high-scoring trio, junior Kadie Tierney chipped in four goals to reach the 100-career points milestone, freshman Lia MacDougall recorded four points on three goals and one assist, sophomore Alison Dioguardi added a pair of goals.
Junior Sophia Cassata led the defense with four caused turnovers and fellow junior Emma Taylor had five draw controls as she went past the 100-career draw controls milestone.
Roberts returns to East Coast Conference (ECC) play Saturday at home against the University of the District of Columbia in the final regular-season home game of the season.
