BUFFALO, N.Y. – Freshman
Jordan Brown surpassed the 20-point mark for the third time this season in the Roberts Wesleyan University men's basketball team's 82-75 loss at D'Youville on Wednesday night.
Brown scored 22 points to lead the Redhawks in the East Coast Conference game. He has scored at least 10 points in 13 of Roberts' 15 games this season.
Junior
Trey Kleitz added 16 points for Roberts (3-12, 1-6 ECC) while
Keonjay Carter scored 12 and
Mohamed Soumahoro 10.
Collin Woods had seven assists for the Redhawks.
Roberts, which held its last lead at the 11:39 mark of the first half, cut its deficit to one point, 52-51, on a layup by Brown with 11:26 to play in the game.
Roberts made 13 of its 27 field-goal attempts (48.1%) in each half and went 10-for-21 on three-point attempts.
Kleitz went 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and hit a three-pointer from the left wing at the first-half buzzer to bring Roberts within 37-34 at intermission. Brown also made four threes in the game.
The Redhawks will return to the Buffalo area on Saturday to take on No. 4 Daemen in an ECC contest at 2 p.m.
