BUFFALO, NY – A pair of second-half goals for the Roberts Wesleyan University Field Hockey team led to a 2-0 road win over D'Youville University as the Redhawks remained unbeaten in East Coast Conference (ECC) play.
Sophomore Avery Carinci scored in the third quarter and fellow sophomore Julia Lukasik added her first goal of the season early in the fourth quarter for the final margin of victory for Roberts (7-5 overall, 5-0 ECC).
D'Youville (5-7, 3-2 ECC) rallied late in the game with six shots recorded in the final period after recording just one shot over the first three quarters but senior goalie Avery Richardson finished with four saves to record the shutout victory.
The Redhawks return to action Saturday with an ECC game against Dominican University.
