ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Keonjay Carter scored 15 of his game-high 25 points in the second half, but the Roberts Wesleyan University men's basketball team was unable to overcome an early deficit and dropped an 89-73 decision to fourth-ranked Daemen in an East Coast Conference game Wednesday at the Voller Athletic Center.

Daemen (28-1, 16-0 ECC) scored the first 13 points of the game and led 19-4 before the Redhawks clawed back to make it 40-32 at the half. Carter scored 10 points and Mohamed Soumahoro added eight points and six rebounds in the opening 20 minutes.

The Redhawks were within five points with 12:42 to play, but Daemen used an 11-1 run to gain separation.

Jaden Lee made four three-pointers and scored 14 points for Roberts. Collin Woods added 12 and Soumahoro finished with 11. Zachary Hicks led the Redhawks with eight rebounds.
