SPARKILL, NY – Sophomore Erin Frazier led four players into double figures scoring with her team leading 17 points but the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Basketball team dropped a 92-71 decision to St. Thomas Aquinas College Friday to start an East Coast Conference (ECC) weekend road trip to the New York City area.
Frazier scored six points in the opening quarter as Roberts (4-13 overall, 1-8 ECC) scored 17 points and trailed by just five points after the first 10 minutes of action.
In the second quarter, STAC (7-16, 4-7 ECC) exploded for 30 points on the strength of 7-for-10 shooting from 3-point range to open up a 20-ponts lead at 52-32 at the halftime intermission.
The Spartans stretched the lead to 27 points after the third quarter. The Redhawks finished strong outscoring the home team 20-14 in the final 10 minutes.
Frazier led Roberts with 17 points and grabbed five rebounds. Freshman Jada Mushat scored 15 points while senior Barbora Froňková and freshman Aniyah Jones each chipped in 13 points for the Redhawks.
Roberts continues the road trip Sunday at second-place Mercy University.
