GENESEO, NY – Sophomore Aaliyah McCoy was all over the field Tuesday night as the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Flag Football team won its fourth consecutive game with a 52-0 victory over SUNY Geneseo on the road.
The win is the first shutout victory in program history and extends the win streak to four games.
McCoy led Roberts (4-0) on defense with 10 tackles including seven behind the line of scrimmage and six quarterback sacks. In addition, McCoy ran for a team-leading 66 yards and one score while also catching a pair of passes with one going for another touchdown.
Roberts scored twice in each quarter with 13 points int eh first and a 27-0 lead at halftime. The Redhawks added 13 more points in the third and capped the scoring with a 12-point fourth quarter.
The defense allowed just 17 yards rushing on 16 carries for the game while the offense churned out 342 yards of total offense with 184 through the air and another 158 on 25 carries.
Freshman Aimee Turner was 8-for-15 passing for 104 yards and four TDs while sophomore Anna Varland was 8-for-12 for 80 yards and another two scores.
McCoy led Roberts with 66 rushing yards and Turner added 58 yards on eight carries. Each player scored one TD on the ground.
Freshman Sarah Seyfang led the receivers with seven catches for 73 yards and three touchdowns. McCoy, freshman Kate Rayburn and freshman Isabella Foggetti added one TD reception each.
Roberts will play a pair of games at the University at Albany this weekend with games against the Great Danes and Roxbury Community College.
