ALBANY, NY – Senior Barbora Fronkova had an interception return for a touchdown and freshman Deborah Catalino added six tackles and four sacks as the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Flag Football team scored a pair of shutout victories Saturday to remain undefeated at 6-0 in its first varsity season.
Roberts (6-0) defeated Roxbury Community College 49-0 and then upended the University at Albany 21-0 for a perfect 2-0 day at Albany.
Offensively, Sophomore Anna Varland was 6-for-7 passing for 104 yards and a pair of scores in the opener while senior Laura Granada came on to complete her first career pass for a 39-yard touchdown to freshman Aimee Turner.
Varland had TD passes to freshman Sarah Seyfang and Turner. Seyfang had three catches for 88 yards and Turner had three for 50 yards as the duo combined for three TDs.
In the win over Albany, Turner had eight runs for 58 yards and a TD while sophomore Aaliyah McCoy had six carries for 46 yards. She added four tackles, one for loss and a pair of sacks. Fronkova had a pair of tackles, a pass breakup and the interception return for a TD.
The Redhawks return to action Wednesday night with a home game against Daemen University on Redhawks Turf Field.
