Redhawks Fall To Molloy In ECC Semifinals

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team was unable to overcome an early deficit and fell to top-seeded Molloy, 11-7, in the East Coast Conference semifinals on Wednesday.

The fourth-seeded Redhawks allowed two early goals and rallied within 8-5 to start the fourth quarter, but Molloy opened the fourth quarter with two goals in the first 3:31 to stymie Roberts' comeback bid.

Sophomore goalie Landon Brimmer played a strong game, making 20 saves for Roberts (6-7).

Sophomore Colin Duncan led the Redhawks on offense with three goals and an assist. Chase Wilson, Cody Coleman, Ryan Brown and Preston Steve also scored for Roberts.

Steve added an assist as did Isaac Marrero and Killian Ceci.

Graduate student Liam Linden scooped five ground balls in his final game as a Redhawk. Marrero and senior Brady Kustra added four ground balls.

After a slow start, Roberts ended the season with five wins in its final seven games.
