CLINTON, NY – Junior Trevor Heitkamp led a pack of four runners from the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Cross Country team across the finish line near the front of the field as the Redhawks placed second overall as a team at the Hamilton College Short Course Invitational Saturday.

Heitkamp finished the race in 16:25.1 in 14th place overall as Roberts placed second with 80 points. Host Hamilton won the team scoring with five runners in the top seven positions with 21 points. The Redhawks finished ahead of Houghton, Utica, Nazareth, Oneonta, St. John Fisher, Hartwick, SUNY Cobleskill, Castleton and SUNY Poly.

Heitkamp led a pack of runners that included junior Jakob Zibbel (15th place), junior Charles Matzke (16th) and graduate student Jackson Doran (17th). Freshman Garret Tracy rounded out the Roberts scoring with his 22nd-place finish in 16:29.3.

Also finishing for Roberts in the top 50 were sophomore Braden Fears (28th), senior Vincent Ciraolo (29th), sophomore Joel Amstutz (30th), junior Juvenal Diaz-Cortes (31st) and junior Hunter Himebaugh (37th). Freshman John Doherty was 42nd followed by fellow freshman Joseph Wojciechowski (48th) and sophomore Isaiah McIntyre (49th).

The Redhawks will run next at the annual Harry F. Anderson Invitational September 26 at Roberts during Homecoming Weekend.
