ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior forward
Archie Murphy scored two goals and registered an assist as the Roberts Wesleyan University men's soccer team played to a 3-3 draw against Goldey-Beacom in the Redhawks' home opener on Saturday.
Murphy opened the scoring in the 11th minute, converting an assist from
Ewan O'Dwyer-Hall.
The Lightning tied the game late in the first half before Murphy connected again in the 51st minute on a set piece initiated by Pablo Garcia Almemany.
The Redhawks (1-2-2) extended their advantage to 3-1 in the 67th minute as Murphy sent
Davi Moretzsohn in alone and Moretzsohn finished into the open net for his first goal as a member of the Redhawks.
Goldey-Beacom scored twice in the final seven minutes to tie the game.
Senior
Juan Daniel Espinosa Rubio made five saves for Roberts.
The Redhawks will travel to Georgian Court for a non-conference match at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
