CLINTON, NY – Juniors Evelyn Schmit and Paige Moore had strong finishes for the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Cross Country team Saturday as the Redhawks placed first overall at the Hamilton College Short Course Invitational.

Schmit was second overall in 14:57.6 and Moore was close behind in fourth position with a time of 15:21.8.

As a team, Roberts finished with 32 points. Host Hamilton College (65 points) was second followed by Houghton (79), Nazareth, Oneonta, St. John Fisher, Utica, Castleton, Hartwick, SUNY Cobleskill and Sage.

Sophomore Michaela Goettel was the third finisher for Roberts in seventh place while juniors Kennedy Mitchell and Amelia Mickelson placed ninth and tenth respectively.

Other top finishers included sophomore Lydia Demarest (12th place), freshman Giuliana Fodor (14th), junior Trista Webster (15th), sophomore Veronica Brewer (16th), sophomore Rose Wilson (30th), senior Mia Lucyshyn (36th), sophomore Olivia Fesmire (41st) and freshman Juliana LaFountain (48th) for Roberts.
