ROCHESTER, N.Y. – One year after suffering a season-ending injury, Roberts Wesleyan University senior Jackson Doran made a triumphant return at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational.

Doran bested the field of 244 runners by 10 seconds on the Matt St. James Cross Country Trails, finishing the 8K course in 25:06.9 to lead the Redhawks to a first-place finish while earning his first collegiate cross country win.

"It feels really good to come out and have my first collegiate cross country win," said Doran, who was racing his first 8K since placing eighth in the 2025 Harry F. Anderson Invitational. "It feels like it was a long time coming, but at the same time the cross country course does not owe you anything."

Roberts finished first in the 18-team field with 43 points. Edinboro was second with 69 and Cortland placed third with 112.

Junior Trevor Heitkamp placed sixth for Roberts in 25:33 and classmate Jakob Zibbel was eighth in 25:50.4. Junior Charles Matzke finished 15^th in 25:55.8 and sophomore Joel Amstutz was 16^th in 26:03.4. Senior Vincent Ciraolo was 29^th in 26:22.6.

Doran finished with his best time on his home course and Heitkamp, Matzke and Amstutz all set personal records.

The Redhawks will return to action on Oct. 10 in Pittsburgh at the CMU Invitational hosted by Carnegie Mellon University.
