Biography

Scholastically: Alif attended Albany High School where he averaged 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots per game. In addition to his athletic accomplishments Alif was the recipient of the Albany Black and Latino Achievers Program Award his senior year.
 
Bland blossomed into an excellent first year player for the Raiders in 2007. He started all 27 games and averaged 8.6 points per game shooting 56% from the floor. He pulled down 156 rebounds, 5.8 per game, and blocked 62 shots, second in the conference. Bland was selected as the Freshman of the Year in the American Mideast North Conference. 
 
Bland missed his second season due to a medical redshirt but reestablished himself as one of the premier post players in the AMC last year. He averaged 12.5 points per game, 13 in conference, and led the American Mideast Conference in FG% at 61%. Bland also led the conference in blocked shots with 89. Bland graded out with the highest value point total of any Roberts’ player last year. At the conclusion of our season, Alif walked away with several honors including NCCAA 2nd Team All American, 1st Team NCCAA East Region, 1st Team American Mideast Conference, and the Roberts Wesleyan College MVP.
 
Bland graded out higher than any other player last season and was selected as a team captain for the upcoming year.
 
Alif is a Psychology Major.
