Michael Guyon was named assistant coach for Roberts Wesleyan Men's Volleyball in 2026.
A graduate of Penn State University, Guyon played collegiate volleyball from 1979 to 1983, showcasing his versatility on the court as a setter, outside hitter, and defensive specialist. The Nittany Lions finished 4th 2nd and 3rd in the country from 1981 through 1983 respectively. His performance earned him Honorable Mention All-American honors in 1982, along with All-EIVA First Team recognition the same year. He followed that with All-EIVA Second Team honors in 1983, solidifying his reputation as a well-rounded and impactful player during his collegiate career.
Guyon spent 15 years as an assistant coach with VolleyFX Volleyball Club, helping to develop young athletes and contribute to the growth of the sport at the club level. He continues his involvement in volleyball today as an assistant coach for the Pace Bootlegger Volleyball Club, where he shares his experience and knowledge with the next generation of players.
Beyond volleyball, Guyon built a successful professional career in civil engineering. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State and became a principal owner at MRB Group P.C., an engineering firm. He later transitioned into public service, serving as the Commissioner of Public Works for the Town of Brighton until his retirement in 2023.
Guyon lives in Penfield New York with his wife Lisa. They have two daughters, Abigail and Amelia. Amelia is a biomedical engineer working in Victor NY and Abigail recently passed the bar exam and is working as an attorney in Boston MA.
Through his accomplishments on the court, on the sidelines, and in his professional life, Mike Guyon has demonstrated leadership, dedication, and a strong commitment to excellence in every endeavor.
