Men's Tennis Take Down Tigers, 8-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (March 23, 2012) – The Men's Tennis team defeated cross-town rivals, RIT yesterday afternoon at the RIT Tennis Courts, 8-1.
 
The Raiders were able to take points at 1st and 3rd doubles while sweeping all six points in singles action. The win snapped a three match skid for the visitors.
 
Beka Buchukuri, Julio Toledo, and German Michaylyszyn all won hard fought three setters in their singles matches for the Raiders.
 
Emanuel Rauchle and Jordan Sadowitz won their singles matches after pairing together for an 8-3 win at 3rd doubles.  Enrique Flores sealed the victory with a straight set win at 4th singles, defeating RIT's Amos Flores (7-5, 6-2). 
 
"This was a closer match than the score indicated,” said Coach Tom Linhart. “I have a great deal of respect for the RIT program and they gave us all we could handle today."
 
The win puts the Raiders at 4-5 in the Spring season and 9-6 on the year.
 
The team is off until April 1 when they travel to Erie, Pa. to take on NCAA DII opponent Mercyhurst College at noon.
