Volleyball Dominates NYIT in Four Sets

Jordan Wilson recorded 18 kills to lead the Redhawks in the win

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2014) – Roberts Wesleyan made a bit of history this evening, defeating NYIT for the first time in program history.

The four-set win saw senior middle blocker Jordan Wilson lead the Redhawks with 18 kills off of 34 attempts to finish the night with a .500 hitting percentage. Defensively, Wilson recorded four blocks (1 solo, 3 assists).

Roberts Wesleyan, who have now won four straight matches, completed the win with a .246 hitting percentage, mostly due to a tremendous fourth set. In the final stanza, the Redhawks picked up 13 kills off of 27 attacks with no errors for a .481 hitting percentage.

Kendal Havener also had a productive night, adding 15 kills off of 28 attempts for a .464 hitting percentage.

Setter Maggie Concannon posted 41 assists for Roberts Wesleyan while Olivia Zureck led the team with 19 digs.

The win puts the Redhawks at 9-5 overall and 5-2 in East Coast Conference play as they will now face LIU Post tomorrow at noon.
