ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Oct. 11, 2014) – Roberts Wesleyan was unable to extend their four-match unbeaten streak as they fell to LIU Post at home this afternoon in straight sets.
The visiting Pioneers controlled play throughout the match as Roberts Wesleyan never led by more than a point in the match.
For the Redhawks, their undoing was poor hitting, evidenced by their team hitting percentage of .074 over the three sets. The offense never got off the ground as a trio of players paced Roberts Wesleyan with just five kills.
For the Pioneers, Danielle Valenza recorded a match-high 15 kills off of 28 attempts, giving her a .357 hitting percentage after committing 5 attack errors. As a team, the Pioneers posted a .333 hitting percentage.
The loss drops Roberts Wesleyan's overall record to 9-6 overall and 5-3 in the conference. The Redhawks will look to shake off the loss when they visit rivals, Daemen, this Wednesday for a match at 7pm.
