Rochester N.Y. (October 31, 2014) – The Women's soccer team fell 4-1 this evening in conference play.
Roberts Wesleyan started the game from behind; the Pioneers scored in the first three minutes of play off a scuffle in front of the box after a corner. The Pioneers scored a second goal minutes later off a header from another corner.
After being down 2-0 early on the Women's team put up a fight.
Heaven Palamitia went down in the box in the 19
th minute, and a penalty kick was awarded.
Bella Mitrevski put away the PK scoring her 13
th goal of the season. The half ended 2-1 the Redhawks were still in the game.
Roberts Wesleyan came out strong in the second half. Palamitia had a great scoring opportunity beating the goalie, but an LIU Post defender was able to kick the ball out of the open net. The Redhawks held on with a few lucky saves from the cross bar.
Things broke down for Roberts Wesleyan in the last two minutes of the game. In 88
th minute LIU offender Lauren Ballone stripped Roberts Wesleyan defense and fired a shot which at first hit the post but she was able to rebound her shot back in. With two seconds left in the match lead scorer of LIU post dribbled across the six yard box through Redhawks defense to score.

Marissa Sell recorded seven saves for the Redhawks.
The loss puts Roberts Wesleyan at 8-9 and 2-6 in the ECC.
The Redhawks are home for their last regular season game and Senior Night this Sunday November 2
