ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Nov. 13, 2014) – The Men's Basketball team opens their 2014-15 season on the road this weekend as they take on Post and Concordia (N.Y.) at the ECC-CACC Challenge.

The annual showcase tournament, which is hosted by Daemen, pits the hosts and Roberts Wesleyan against two programs from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Roberts Wesleyan will open with Post at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow evening before squaring-off with Concordia (N.Y.) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Both games mark the first meetings in program history against the two teams.

Coming into the season Post was picked to finish fifth in the CACC North Division after finishing the 2013-14 campaign with an 11-16 overall record, despite going 11-8 in conference action. The Eagles have just one returner from last season, Rokas Lapsys, a sophomore guard who appeared on inly three games last year.

Concordia was picked to finish last in the CACC North Division after completing last season with a 5-21 overall record. The Clippers return junior guard Jaimie Holder, who averaged 10.2 points per game last year. However, the team enters the season looking to replace leading scorer Norman Pope, who graduated after pouring in 20.5 points per game.

For Roberts Wesleyan, head coach Rob McCoy returns the core of his line-up from a year ago, including leading scorer Isaac Medeiros. The senior forward averaged 16.3 points per game while also leading in rebounds with 8.7 per game.

Other notable returners include junior Tyrel Dixon, guards Jordan McBride and Jamaal Carter, and big-man Kevin Madiamba.

Junior transfer Marcus Gooding will look to make an immediate impact coming from Monroe Community College where he shot 48.3% from long range.

The Redhawks make their home debut over Thanksgiving weekend when they entertain Adelphi on Saturday, Nov. 29 for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
