Jordan Wilson earned her 1,000
th career kill this afternoon in a straight sets win over Queens.
Wilson joined teammate
Kendall Havener, who surpasses the 1,000 mark in yesterday's win over Molloy. In all, Wilson tallied 11 kills in the winning effort.
Despite the shut-out, the match was competitive throughout. In the second set, Roberts Wesleyan needed to climb out of an 8-2 hole early on as they eeked out a narrow 26-24 win.
In the third set, the score was tied 19-19 before Roberts Wesleyan won six of the final eight points to take the match.
Freshman outside hitter
Courtney Taylor was a force on offense for Roberts Wesleyan as she notched a match-high 15 kills and a .387 hitting percentage.
As a team, the Redhawks hitting percentage was .267 compared to Queens, who hit .143 as a team.
Defensively,
Olivia Zureck and
Judy Schultz each had 13 digs while Wilson assisted on five blocks.
The win puts Roberts Wesleyan at 15-9 overall and 9-5 in East Coast Conference action.
To finish the regular season, the Redhawks travel to take on NYIT next Saturday before facing LIU Post on Sunday.
