ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Nov. 21, 2014) - Roberts Wesleyan is set to open the season at home this Saturday when they entertain Georgian Court at 6:00 p.m. The game marks the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Georgian Court entered the contest having dropped their first three games of the season. After falling to District of Columbia and Mercy last weekend, the Lions fell to CACC rivals, Philadelphia, on Thursday evening at home.

The team is led by senior Tahira Matthews. The forward is averaging 30 points per game after pouring in 45 points against Mercy. She comes into her final season having scored 895 points as well as hauling in 574 career rebounds.

Jess Placher is also a main contributor for Georgian Court thus far. She is averaging 14 points per game. The guard leads the team from three-point range as she is 9 of 26, shooting 34.6% from long range.

For Roberts Wesleyan, seniors Marissa Sell and Ashley Cianfriglia return for their final season. Sell has averaged a double-double the last two seasons while Cianfriglia paced the Redhawks from three-point range.

Head coach Bob Segave is looking to guide Roberts Wesleyan to the East Coast Conference tournament for the first time. Had the College been eligible, the team would have qualified the last two years.

PROMOTIONS:
-
The game is a BLACKOUT as fans are encouraged to wear black in support of the Redhawks.

- There is also an entire line-up of in-game promotions this year for both the Men's and Women's Basketball games. Fans will have chances to win prizes during media timeouts as well as halftime.

- A new seating option is being introduced with premium courtside seating. All RWC/NES faculty, staff, and students receive general admission tickets for free with a valid College ID.

All ticket prices can be found here.

- Fans are also encouraged to donate non-perishable food items at the ticket table at all home games this year. The Redhawks are partnering with the Roberts Wesleyan ENACTUS team to help provide support to the Free to Fly organization in downtown Rochester.
