WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 18, 2014) – The Women's Basketball team tip-off against District of Columbia tomorrow evening for their first East Coast Conference road game of the season. The contest is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Last season, the two teams split their two meetings as they each won at home. The last meeting with in the nation's capital as the Firebirds came out on top with a 71-61 result. Earlier in the season, it was Roberts Wesleyan earning a narrow 78-74 victory.

TICKETSAdmission is $5 for the doubleheader, which includes the men's game at 5:00 p.m.

SCOUTING DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (8-2, 1-1 ECC)The Firebirds have won five of their last six games coming into Friday's game. The team has won their last two, which came in the form of an 80-68 results against LIU Post as well as a 79-61 trouncing of Virginia Union.

Offensively, District of Columbia has three players scoring in double-digits as Danikka Brent leads the team with 15.4 points per game. The senior forward is shooting 44.8% from the field while also averaging 7.3 rebounds per contest. Only Tatyana Calhoun is averaging more on the boards with her 7.6 rebounds per game.

Defensively, the team ranks second in the conference with 11.4 steals per game while they rank fourth in the ECC with the fewest turnovers (16.4) per game.

SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (5-2, 1-1 ECC)The Redhawks are looking to end December on a high note as they wrap up the first semester of the season. Coming into the game, Roberts Wesleyan has won four of their last five games, including a 76-70 win at home against Molloy last Saturday.

Two players are scoring in double-digits thus far.
Marissa Sell, who surpassed 1,000 career points last weekend, leads the team with 17.3 points per game. Junior forward Samantha Courntey is adding 13.7 points per game.

Necedah James (7.9) have been playing will in their debut season for Roberts Wesleyan.

However, as a team, Roberts Wesleyan will need to improve their shooting as they rank ninth out of 11 teams in the ECC with their 37.7% field goal shooting percentage. They do come in at fourth in the conference with their 45.9 rebounds per game while leading the ECC with 15.4 assists per game.
