ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball dropped their East Coast Conference opener at home to District of Columbia Friday evening, 90-77.
The Redhawks saw four players score in double-digits, but it wasn't enough as the visitors shot a red-hot 71.0 percent from the field in the second half.
How It HappenedRoberts Wesleyan led 32-30 at the half and led by one points with less than nine minutes to play before the Firebirds went on a 16-1 run over three and a half minutes to take a commanding lead.
The Redhawks got some points back and trailed 79-72 with just over a minute remaining, however District of Columbia closed out the game by outscoring the home team 11-5 to seal the win.
Key StatThe Firebirds were 22 of 31 from the field in the second half to help finish the game shooting 56.3 percent from the field over the entire game.
Inside the Numbers- Roberts Wesleyan was out-rebounded 47 to 27 as the Firebirds tallied 24 defensive rebounds.
