Dowling Gets Past Men's Basketball

Strong offensive performances weren't enough in a loss to Dowling Saturday afternoon

OAKDALE, N.Y. – Despite several strong performances, Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball fell on the road to Dowling Saturday afternoon, 97-88.

Tyrel Dixon and Zack Panebianco poured in 23 and 20 points respectively while Mike Stone added 18 points in the loss.

How It Happened
The Redhawks never led in the game, but trailed by just four points with 6:04 remaining in the game after Panebianco drained one of his five three-pointers, making it a 75-71 advantage for the Golden Lions.

In the final minute, Roberts Wesleyan made it a five-point game with a three-pointer from Stone with just 44 seconds left on the clock. However, that was a close as they would get as Dowling made their free-throws to hold on for the win.

The Redhawks held Dowling's bench to just two points as they received 20 points, which included Quinn Carey's 14 points.
