ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 12, 2015) – Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team could not pull out a win, despite early success.
The Redhawks showed that they were able to contend with anyone in the second day of the Roberts Wesleyan Quad match, by keeping the games close through the first half of each set but offenses of Saint Rose and Millersville proved to be too much.
Roberts Wesleyan posted only a .079 attack percentage against Saint Rose and a .095 against Millersville. Saturday games were led by
Courtney Taylor with a grand total of 20 kills, 5 digs and 1 block. Roberts was also aided by
Riley Moll with 8 kills, 4 blocks and Kate Stegar with 8 kills, 8 digs, 2 assists, 1 ace. Saint Rose was led by Maryellen Devic registering 13 kills, 10 digs, 6 aces, and 2 assists. Millersville was led by Grace Dawson with 4 kills, 25 assists, 2 aces, 1 block and 5 digs.
Even though the Redhawks were within a few points with each game they were unable to pull out a win in the Quad Match this past weekend. The Redhawks and first year coach,
Doug Porterfield seek to get their first win together this Saturday in Dobbs Ferry, NY against Mercy College.
