ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball fell at home to Daemen, 98-96, as the Wildcats rallied for the win inside the Voller Athletic Center.
After heading in to the locker room leading 47-39, the Redhawks led by as much as 22 points in the second half thanks to strong long-range shooting. However, the visitors managed to chip away at the lead to steal the win with a layup from Torrence Dyck with four seconds left on the clock.
Roberts Wesleyan saw the freshman pair of Zack Pannebianco and
Quinn Carey lead the team as they poured in 26 and 23 points respectively. Panebianco finished the game 8 of 13 from the field and a perfect 7 of 7 at the line. Carey hit all of his seven field goals from beyond the arc.
Senior
Marcus Gooding also had a hot hand as he finished with 23 points after going 6 of 10 from long range.
As a team, Roberts Wesleyan led in all of the shooting categories, including their 58.1 three-point field goal shooting percentage as they made a program record 18 three-pointers.
The loss puts the Redhawks at 4-8 overall and 1-5 the East Coast Conference. The team travels to take on NYIT on Friday.
