Bridgeport, Conn. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's soccer team fell behind early in Friday night's game at Bridgeport and couldn't find their way back into the game losing 7-0.
Bridgeport had seven different players score in the game that saw the Redhawks get outshot 28-4. Roberts Wesleyan was only able to manage one shot in the first half and three in the second with two total shots on goal. Bridgeport fired off 17 shots on goal.
The Purple Knights opened the scoring in the 2
nd minute of the game off an awarded penalty kick taken by Nicola Worthington.
In the 37
th minute Shannon Colligan netted a goal off a far post cross putting Bridgeport up 2-0. That lead would hold until the halftime break.
The second half started off with an early goal in the 51
st minute to put the Purple Knights up 3-0. But the scoring frenzy continued in the 61
st and 68
th minute followed by two final goals at the 71:04 mark and 71:40 mark.

Kelsey Brinkel made ten saves on the night.
Roberts Wesleyan (9-4-2, 5-2-1) will host NYACK College for its last game of the season on October 26 at 5 p.m.
