Amherst, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team fell to ECC rival Daemen in four set s Tuesday night, 17-25, 25-18, 22-25, 17-25.

The Redhawks got off to a slow start in the first set allowing four service aces and a nine point rally to go down 11-2. A kill by outside hitter
Courtney Taylor followed by two Wildcat attack errors helped the Redhawks get back into the game at 16-22 but the deficit was too much to overcome.

In the second set Roberts Wesleyan strung together seven straight points to create a 15-9 cushion as Redhawk setter
Elisabeth Rivera kept the ball moving getting kills from three different players in that stretch. Rivera had 33 assists on the night. Later in the set service aces by
Kristina Button and Shelby Stausbaugh along with a kill by
Alexandre Tahauri closed things out to knot the match at 1-1.

The Wildcats would go on to win sets two and three to get the victory. Roberts Wesleyan was plagued by service errors as the team combined for nine in the final two sets.

Anjali Thomson played strong defensively for the Redhawks totaling seven blocks in the match, while
Olivia Zureck led the team with 23 digs.

Roberts Wesleyan (6-8, 3-2 ECC) takes on the University of Bridgeport on Saturday at 12 p.m.
