Tyrel Dixon's triple-double effort guided Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball to a 95-84 win over Dowling on Alumi Day Saturday afternoon.
Dixon paced the Redhawks with 22 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists.
How It HappenedAfter coming out of the break tied 41-41, Roberts Wesleyan by as much as 19 points after going on a 15-2 run, over less than three minutes of action midway through the half.
The Golden Lions managed to chip away at the lead as they cut the deficit to just three points when Evan Maxwell made a layup, putting the Redhawks lead at 78-75 with 3:58 left to play.
Roberts Wesleyan was able to hang on down the stretch, snapping three-game skid.
Key StatFree-throw shooting as a factor in the game as Dowling went just 9 of 18 compared to the Redhawks faring slightly better at 15 of 25.
Inside the Numbers- Dixon's triple-double is a first for the senior, having come close on several occasions throughout his career.

Malik Dare fell one rebound shy of a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.
Mike Stone pitched in 14 points.

th player in program history to reach the milestone.
"Dixon's" ImpactThe triple-double helped Roberts Wesleyan in an up-tempo game that saw the Redhawks put up the most points since their 96-point output in a setback to Daemen earlier this season.
The swingman entered halftime with 11 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.
