Flushing, N.Y. - After dropping the first set, the Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team stormed back to win three in a row to claim an opening conference win against Queens College, 3-1.

Senior outside hitter,
Alexandre Tahauri led the Redhawks to the win on Saturday afternoon with 11 kills, two aces, and ten digs while
Elisabeth Rivera handed out 34 assists on the day.

Roberts Wesleyan (4-6, 1-0 ECC) dropped the first set of the match 20-25 giving up free points with five service errors. But a lost first set was all the Redhawks needed to get focused and come back to take three straight sets and win their first East Coast Conference match of the season.

In the second set, both teams traded runs to start the action with Roberts Wesleyan opening a 6-2 lead before allowing the Knights to crawl back to the lead 8-6. Later in the set, down 16-22 a service ace by
Rachel Holmes got things going offensively for the Redhawks as they fought back with an 8-1 run to claim the lead back 24-23, eventually winning the set 27-25.

Roberts took advantage of some sloppy play by the Knights in the third set pulling out to a quick 7-0 lead. The team never looked back and won the set 25-16.

In the fourth set, Tahauri led the attack with seven kills en route to a 25-20 win that gave the Redhawks their first ECC win of the season.

Roberts Wesleyan continues conference play on Sunday when they face Molloy College at 12 p.m.
