Rochester, N.Y. – A rough shooting second half halted the Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball team as they lost to Goldey-Beacom College Saturday afternoon, 95-66.

Down just one at the halftime break, 41-40 the Redhawks couldn't get anything going in the second half and the Goldey-Beacom Lightning took advantage to build a large lead that they would hold onto for the remainder of the game. Roberts Wesleyan was outscored 54-26 in the second half as they shot just 10-for-35 (28.6%) from the field and 2-of-11 (18.2%) from long range.

Sophomore guard
Zack Panebianco finished with a team high 16 points and had five steals on the afternoon. The Lightning were led by senior Shakeem Wilson who scored 28 points and pulled down seven rebounds. 22 of his 28 points came in the first half.

In the first half the Redhawks put up a fight defensively forcing 10 turnovers with Panebianco picking up four steals.

Roberts would take their first lead of the game with 11:24 remaining in the first half off a Panebianco layup making the score 18-17. The guard then hit a three-pointer to give the Redhawks a four point lead at 21-17. Roberts and Goldey-Beacom continued to battle back-and-forth with the lead throughout the half, but the Lightning were the ones to take the one point advantage into the half.

It took the Redhakws four minutes to get their first points of the second half and it was too late as Goldey-Beacom began to build a lead shooting over 50-percent from the floor and 75-percent from three-point range.

Roberts Wesleyan (2-15) prepare for East Coast Conference play on Wednesday when they host Saint Thomas Aquinas at 8 p.m.
