Men's Basketball Improves to 4-0 with Win Over Georgian Court

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Sophomore guard Isaiah Lewis scored a game 20 points on Saturday afternoon to help the Redhawks defeat Georgian Court University, 72-61 and improve to a perfect 4-0 on the season.

Lewis played all but five minutes in the game and setting season highs in points and assists (7). The Churchville native was 4-of-12 from the floor with two three pointers. Lewis was perfect from the charity stripe going 9-of-9.

As a team the Redhawks shot just over 37-percent from the field on 24-of-64 shooting and 25-percent from three point distance going 5-of-20. Georgian Court shot just over 40-percent from the floor going 21-of-52.

Junior transfer student Brad Williams played a crucial role in the team's win coming off the bench for Roberts. The guard/forward combo scored 15 points and pulled down five rebounds.

Other than the first made basket for the Lions, Roberts held the lead the entire game eventually building an 18 point lead in the first half to make the score 31-13 with just over six minutes to play in the half. The Redhawks built the lead on an 18-2 run beginning at the 10:53 mark on a made bucket by Williams.

In the second half the Lions were able to nip away at the Redhawks lead cutting it to six with 11:12 remaining in the half, but Lewis and Williams proved to be too much for Georgian Court as the duo combined for 22 of the teams' 36 second half points. Lewis scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half alone.

Roberts Wesleyan (4-0) will take on Chestnut Hill College on Sunday at 4 p.m. in its second game of the Redhawks Alumni Classic.
