Rochester, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team took on the No. 1 ranked defending national champions Le Moyne College on Wednesday in the season's home opener, but the Redhawks would end up falling 14-3.

Roberts got on the board first with a goal from
Cody Menzies just over two minutes into the game. The Dolphins came back with a goal of their own and the score stayed level at 1-1 through the first quarter.

Le Moyne was able to score three straight goals in the second quarter before
Zac Sapor added a goal for the Redhawks with 8:06 to play before the half. But the Dolphins quick attacking offense answered with another four straight goals before halftime.

The Dolphins defense was able to keep the Redhawks offense in check throughout the second half holding Roberts to just four shots and one goal which came from
Brady Bermingham in the third quarter. Le Moyne finished the game on a six goal run.

The game marked the first time the Redhawks have hosted the powerhouse Le Moyne as the men's lacrosse program continues to be a growing sport at Roberts Wesleyan since its inception in 2012.

Roberts Wesleyan drops to 3-2 on the season and will host Dominican College for the first East Coast Conference matchup of the season.
