Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Volleyball Competes at Cavalier Classic in Ohio

NORTH CANTON, OHIO – The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team went winless at the Cavalier Classic hosted by Walsh University over the weekend.

The Redhawks most competitive match came in their last of the tournament against Seton Hill. Roberts fell 25-18, 25-19, 25-21. Senior Courtney Taylor led the offensive in the match with seven kills. Taylor was named to the All-Tournament Team for her play over the weekend. The Spring, Texas native led the Redhawks with 31 total kills over the five game stretch.

Head coach Doug Porterfield said the team began to settle down in the later games of the tournament giving them more opportunity to run the offensive system.

Defensively the Redhawks were led by libero Shelby Strausbaugh who finished the weekend with 42 digs, including an 11 dig performance against West Liberty.

Roberts will host Le Moyne on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Voller Athletic Center for the first home game of the season. The team previously hosted Brockport for an exhibition match.
