ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team made a valiant comeback against Bentley University on Saturday, but in the end fell short, losing 12-8.
After falling behind 6-2 late in the second quarter the Redhawks scored five straight goals to take a 7-6 lead. It was their first lead of the contest.
Alex Bianchi scored two of his three goals in that stretch. He was joined by
Gavin Marsh,
Hunter Lemieux, and
Cody Menzies who all tallied a goal in the run.
The Falcons had the answer scoring five straight goals of their own taking an 11-7 lead late in the fourth quarter.
Roberts picked up the 32 groundballs, edging out Bentley who had 21.
Colin Vandewater led with six total groundballs.
The Redhawks (4-3) will head into its first East Coast Conference game next Saturday when they take on NYIT.
