Men's Lacrosse Defeated by Franklin Pierce

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Four straight late fourth quarter goals gave the visiting Franklin Pierce Ravens a 13-10 win over the Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team on Tuesday afternoon.

The Redhawks took their first lead of the game in the third quarter following a five goal outburst that ended with a goal by Hunter Lemieux with two seconds left in the quarter. The 9-8 lead didn't last long as the Ravens tied the game up at the 12:21 mark of the fourth quarter. Cody Menzies answered with one of his three goals at the 9:40 mark to regain the advantage, but the Ravens finished the game on a four goal run to take the 13-10 victory.

Menzies led the Redhawks with his three goals while Lemieux, Matt Gademske and AJ Hems all added two goals of their own.

Freshman Mitch Streety went 8-of-12 on faceoffs and picked up six ground balls in the process.

Brennan Mackey posted 15 saves on the day and had a team leading eight ground balls.

With the loss the Redhawks have now dropped three straight games and hold an overall record of 4-5. Roberts will host Mercy College on Saturday at noon for the second East Coast Conference game of the season.
