ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Four straight late fourth quarter goals gave the visiting Franklin Pierce Ravens a 13-10 win over the Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team on Tuesday afternoon.
The Redhawks took their first lead of the game in the third quarter following a five goal outburst that ended with a goal by
Hunter Lemieux with two seconds left in the quarter. The 9-8 lead didn't last long as the Ravens tied the game up at the 12:21 mark of the fourth quarter.
Cody Menzies answered with one of his three goals at the 9:40 mark to regain the advantage, but the Ravens finished the game on a four goal run to take the 13-10 victory.
Menzies led the Redhawks with his three goals while Lemieux,
Matt Gademske and
AJ Hems all added two goals of their own.
Freshman
Mitch Streety went 8-of-12 on faceoffs and picked up six ground balls in the process.
Brennan Mackey posted 15 saves on the day and had a team leading eight ground balls.
With the loss the Redhawks have now dropped three straight games and hold an overall record of 4-5. Roberts will host Mercy College on Saturday at noon for the second East Coast Conference game of the season.
