ROCHESTER N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team fell to No. 13 ranked Mercy College on Saturday afternoon, 12-6.
Alex Bianchi got the Redhawks on the board first with a goal in the 12th minute of the first quarter., but the Mavericks scored six unanswered goals to take a decisive lead. At the half Mercy led the Redhawks, 7-2.
Roberts came out strong in the second half scoring three straight goals to close the gap and bring the score to 7-5 in favor of Mercy. But the Mavericks wouldn't allow Roberts to draw any closer as the visitors scored five more goals to take a 12-5 lead with 5:35 remaining.
Bianchi finished with two goals. Freshman
Hunter Lemieux also had two goals and added in one assist.
The Redhawks will suit up again at home on Saturday, March 31 at noon against No. 14 LIU Post.
