ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's soccer team shutout Lincoln University 5-0 in their second ECC matchup of the season on Wednesday night. Four different Redhawks were able to put points on the board.

The Redhawks opened up the scoring in the 9thminute when junior Taylor Rutland fired a shot into the corner of the net off of a deflection. Tiffany Melendez had the assist. The next goal was in the 37thminute when midfielder McKennzie Pursel used her incredible awareness to receive her own rebound off of the goalkeeper placing the ball into the back of the net.

The second half was all Roberts as the Redhawks continued their lead scoring three more goals. The third goal of the game was scored in the 46thminute when sophomore Genevieve Palmer elusively wrapped around a defender inside the box, squeezing a shot on goal, making the score line 3-0. Junior Olivia Avery scored the fourth goal off of a laser attempt over the keeper's head from 25 yards out. The final goal of the game came from a pass from sophomore Ava Harrington that met the feet of Taylor Rutland. Rutland took a shot from the left side of the box and scored her second of the evening, making the final score 5-0.
