SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team fell short in a tough out-of-conference game on the road Wednesday night against the Le Moyne Dolphins, 0-3.
The Redhawks put up a good fight in every set, but were unable to come out on top. Le Moyne set high standards to surpass in their home gym with a combined 47 kills on 43 assists, as well as 47 digs for the match. The Redhawks had 21 kills on 17 assists with 36 digs.
Junior middle-hitter
Anastasia Smith led Roberts Wesleyan with six kills on 13 total attempts, along with two blocks. Senior middle-hitter
Kristina Button had five kills, an ace, and a block, while junior outside-hitter
Rachel Holmes showed her wide range of skill with four kills, an assist, and seven digs. Sophomore setter and outside hitter
Emily Rowlison finished the night with 11 assists and an ace, while Freshman setter Lauren Chase finished with seven assists and five digs.
This loss puts the Redhawks at 1-9 on the season. The women's volleyball team jumps into conference-play this weekend at home against LIU Post on Friday at 7 p.m., and NYIT on Saturday at 12 p.m.
