ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Monday evening, a winner could not be decided between the the Roberts Wesleyan women's soccer team and The College of Saint Rose. The game concluded in a 0-0 draw after two overtime periods.
The Redhawks spent most of the first half of action in their defensive end recording only three shots versus Saint Rose's six. Unable to take control of the score line is regular time, the Redhawks still managed to get nine shots off in the second half.
Both sides managed to create opportunities in overtime but both the Redhawks and the Golden Knights weren't able to get on the board.
Junior forward
Maya Rutland led Roberts on offense with five shots and three on net. Junior goalkeeper
Kelsey Brinkel played the entire game and made seven saves. Also, the Redhawks back line played a pivotal role in defending inside the 18-yard box to hold off the Golden Knights.
The Redhawks' overall record is 1-1-1 and will travel to Waterbury, Connecticut next to face Post University on Saturday, September 8 at 1 p.m.
