WATERBURY, Conn. – For the second game in a row the Roberts Wesleyan women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw, this time on the road against Post University. Roberts is now 1-1-2 this season.
The Redhawks dominated on the attacking side of the pitch, firing off 21 shots with 10 on net compared to just five total shots by Post and only two on target. Junior forward
Maya Rutland led the Redhawks with six total shots and four on goal. Her twin sister
Taylor Rutland added five shots and two on net. But none were able to sneak past Eagles goalkeeper Cheyenne Grim who made 10 saves on the day.
In the second overtime period Roberts tested Grim in goal with four shots on net over a 3 minute 30 second span. But the keeper kept the scoreless game alive until the final whistle.
Up next for Roberts is a road game against Urbana University on Wednesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
