ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan women's soccer team posted a 3-0 shutout win over Queens College on Saturday afternoon.

The first goal was scored 16 minutes into the first half by senior
Genevieve Palmer, assisted by
Taylor Rutland. In the second half the Redhawks scored two more goals coming from
Morgan Razzano and Stevielyn Diggory.Â

The first half of the game opened up quickly as Palmer took the first shot on goal at the 11 minute mark into the bottom of the net but was saved by Queens goalkeeper Shenae Kreps. Not long after, Palmer took a second shot from a pass from Rutland sinking it into the back of the net and moving the Redhawks to 1-0. Continuing with the momentum, Roberts saw two more shots before the end of the first half.

The second half started in a similar fashion with the first shot taken by
Taylor Rutland three minutes into the half. The second goal came from Razzano at the 77 minute mark and less than a minute later Diggory took a shot which was saved by Queens. Five minutes later Diggory moved Roberts to 3-0 with a goal assisted by
Tiffany MelendezÂ

On the defensive side, goalkeeper
Kelsey Brinkel kept it locked down for the full 90 minutes making five saves and leaving the Knights scoreless.Â

Next up, the women's soccer team will be on the road at Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia, Pa. on Thursday October 10th. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
