Redhawks' Hot Shooting Leads to 89-85 Win Over St. Rose

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball team picked up its third win of the season on Saturday with an 89-85 road win over Saint Rose.

The Redhawks erased a 10 point second half deficit led by junior guard Reggie Clark who scored 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Clark was joined by three other Redhawks who scored double digits. Shane Fanning hit four 3-pointers and finished the game with 19 points. Armon Nasseri poured in 17 points and Amari Lee was a factor in every facet of the game with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 1 block.

The key to the game for Roberts was the effective free throw shooting down the stretch to seal the victory. After regaining the lead with six minutes to play Roberts never gave the lead up again. In the final two minutes the Redhawks went a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.

It was by far the best shooting day of the season for the Redhawks with a team percentage of .574 on 31-of-54 shooting. The team was also 18-for-20 from the free throw line. Saint Rose also shot a high percentage going 34-of-59 (.576).

Roberts Wesleyan will be on a break until Jan. 5th when the team travels to Southern New Hampshire University for a 3:30 tipoff.
