MANCHESTER, NH. - Roberts men's basketball fell in their first 2020 road game against Southern New Hampshire 94-76 on Sunday afternoon.
The Penmen were the first to get on the board gaining a slight edge by five points and Roberts following shortly after. The teams traded points until the seven minute mark when Southern New Hampshire increased their lead by ten.
Roberts used a 7-0 run to close the gap with the Penmen leading by only three with two minutes remaining in the first half, nearly ending Southern New Hampshire's 42-39 lead. The Redhawks held on until Southern New Hampshire put up eight unanswered points to close out the first half, 53-39.
In the second half, Southern New Hampshire kept their double digit lead intact converting 21 points from turnovers off the Redhawks ending the game with the Penmen on top 76-94.
Amari Lee paced the Redhawks putting up 19 points and collected seven rebounds, two steals, and an assist. Three others scored in double digits Demani Smith with 16, Aarmon Nasseri with 11, and Reggie Clark with ten.
Roberts was 10-for-11 (89.5%) in free throws out shooting Southern New Hampshire who was 10-for-12 (73.3%) and was hot on rebounds with 39 in comparison to SNHU's 31. The Redhakws were also 27-for-65 (41.5%) from the field, and 5-for-22 (22.7%) from beyond the arc.
