PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team began its 2019 season on Saturday on the road against Alderson Broaddus where the Redhawks came away with a 13-12 victory.
Mike Richardson's goal with just under two minutes to play in the game ended up being the game winner for the Redhawks. Richardson's goal gave Roberts a 13-11 lead but Alderson Broaddus came back with a goal in the final second to pull within one but it was too little too late as the clock expired.

Michael Pierog and
Hunter Lemieux each tallied three goals apiece to lead the scoring for Roberts.
Roberts had the edge offensively with 41 shots on goal and 29 on frame. Alderson Broaddus finished with 31 shots and 21 on goal.
The Redhawks were dominant in the face offs winning 18 to just nine by the hosts.
Sam Schubach went 13-for-17 on face offs while
Mitch Streety was 5-of-10.
Roberts Wesleyan (1-0) will travel to North Carolina for a matchup on Tuesday against Mars Hill University. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
