MARS HILL, N.C. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team filled up the scoreboard on Tuesday afternoon defeating Mars Hill, 20-4.
Ten different Redhawks were able to tally a goal. Senior
Cody Menzies led the attack with five goals and one assist.
Matt Gademske added three goals and three assists.
Roberts took control in nearly every facet of the game starting with winning 23 faceoffs to just three by Mars Hill.
Sam Schubach was a perfect 13-for-13 on face-offs while
Mitch Streety was 10-for-13.
Offensively Roberts dominated scoring 16 goals before allowing the hosts to get on the board. The Redhawks got off 51 shots and 33 on goal. Roberts' defense held Mars Hill to just 23 shots, never allowing them to fire off more than nine shots in a quarter.
Pat Hynes played all 60 minutes in goal and made 11 saves.
Roberts Wesleyan (2-0) will travel back to Rochester for a home game on Saturday against Walsh University. Game time is set for noon.
